proenza schouler inspired necklace: do it yourself

November 29, 2011 § 22 Comments

i had to diy this colorful gem inspired by proenza schouler. my twist requires super glue, some rope and an amateur level of wrapping and tying skills!

tools needed:
• 2 small bungee cords in different colors
• 1 yard of thick twisted rope cord
• thin hemp cord
• medium hemp cord
• black satin cord {2mm thick}
• brown satin cord {2mm thick}
• a bit of rhinestone chain
• a pair of scissors
• a lighter
• super glue or mod podge

to do:
based on the photos, cut, glue, wrap and tie where needed. the lighter is used to singe the string, rope and cord ends in order to prevent fraying. {be careful not to burn yourself!} although my variation is slightly different, please see honestly…wtf for more detailed instructions. have fun!
