brown rice + nori snack

here’s a great little healthy snack to try! it’s simple and uses whole ingredients which is a good thing. for those of you who have yet to try the umeboshi plum, you need to asap. it offers up a nice salty bite for the palette and is believed to be a great healing ingredient in japan. these plums were esteemed by the samurai to combat battle fatigue. and eating umeboshi in japan is the equivalent of eating an apple a day in the u.s.

seems good + healthy, perfect for january..I feel a bit low on energy right now!
I love the sound of the umbushi plum Kristina! Gonna hunt one down to try. Happy Wednesday my friend xoxo

I pretty much live on umeboshi. After living in Tokyo for two years, I’m addicted. Do you like natto as well? Love the stuff.
This is beautiful and so delicious, too! You sure know so much about food, Kristina! This is also a great snack if you choose it to be, right? No wonder you look so fit!! Have a wonderful weekend!
This is my favorite combination! Love umeboshi :) I’m so happy to see traditional japanese food on your blog post! xo akiko

In NYC you can get a lot of brown rice sushi which feels very unique because I didn’t see this in England much at all. In London one of my favourite restaurants did a big brown rice dish with lots of great vegetables, I find rice dishes very comforting and satisfying. I should try this!
