neon caviar bead necklace: how to
May 27, 2013 § 5 Comments
do you guys remember this necklace that i made a while back? well, with such the great response that it got on pinterest i thought to create another, this time going for more delicacy, using gold with just a few neon colors. hope you like this second version! x
instructions:
1. start by envisioning or sketching out the bead pattern that you desire
2. thread the seed beads onto the safety pins {tip: an easy way to do this is by dipping the pin into the bead pots, the beads will easily catch onto the pin this way} carefully close the safety pins, making sure not to prick yourself
3. as you go, i strongly recommend lining up your beaded safety pins so that you can monitor the direction of your pattern
4. once you have all of your beaded safety pins lined up, feed the gold chain through the bottom holes of the pins
5. add jump rings and clasp if needed {you may need to remove these parts before step 4}
6. wear it with love!

storing jewelry: how to
January 29, 2013 § 9 Comments
i’ve finally mustered the time and energy to find practical ways in which to store my jewelry. it’s always taken a back seat to all of the other more pressing things in my life. this marble bust from my grandfather is now being used to hang necklaces. as for bracelets, watches and rings, my collection of bowls, again, all of which are courtesy of my grandfather, serve well as decorative containers.
i still have yet to sort through more, including earrings and brooches, but that will happen in time. other great things that can be used to store jewelry are wine tumblers, cocktail glasses, ashtrays, and pretty cups and saucers from antique tea sets. i would love to hear about how you guys store your gems!
what’s on my makeup counter?
January 17, 2013 § 7 Comments
welcome to another whatcha got in there post! and this time i present you with what’s on my makeup counter. it’s kind of a mishmash of everything tossed in there, but i tell you, it’s a step in the right direction as far as getting organized. i’m using my grandfather’s marble yearn in which to hold my products, i’m sure you guys already know this by now, but whenever you get the chance to display your treasured pieces, please do so, you only get one life! i also like to use stemless wine tumblers to hold my lip glosses and such. p.s. isn’t that entomology bracelet the coolest? got that at a friend’s art show in mill valley, ca.

trinket storage: how to
August 29, 2012 § 9 Comments
it seems that i am up to my old antics again. it’s quite embarrassing actually, i once made a travel cart out of a tampax box for my sister’s baby pound puppy, she just loved that one. well what can i say, i guess i get a thrill out of transforming completely mundane and ordinary items, hence my egg carton diy – hope you like it as much as i do!
you will need:
• 1 unsoiled egg carton
• sissors
• spray paint – optional – i went with au naturel {read: easy} instead
to do:
cut the lid off of the egg carton with your sissors. spray paint {gold would be a nice choice} if you want. place inside your bathroom drawer for storing your little odds and ends. easiest peasiest diy ever right?!
