thinking that i’m needing to invest in a floor to ceiling storage unit for jewelry, because me wants all of these gorgeous pieces!! and i’ve always loved the look of clean, bare nails, they look so naturally care free and allow for the jewelry to stand out.

key ring bracelet: do it yourself
January 10, 2012 § 16 Comments
this might be the easiest diy on the market yet! i stumbled upon this idea while on the elliptical at the gym. i’d been wearing this pink key ring coil around my wrist for as long as i could remember. attached to it was the key to my gym locker and it finally dawned on me that i should also be wearing this as an everyday, non-gym-day bracelet!
tools needed:
coil key ring from the hardware store {i favor the bright neon colors}
jewelry pliers
jump ring
charm pendant of some sort {i got this black ceramic heart from michael’s}
instructions:
remove the key ring from the coil
attach the jump ring to the charm pendant using your jewelry pliers
hook the pendant onto the coil and voila! you’ve got yourself a super simple chic bracelet to sport!

neon rope bracelet: do it yourself
October 31, 2011 § 30 Comments
i’ve been on a major diy kick as of late. jenni from ispy-diy. provides some creative designs, one of them being her neon rope bracelet which i love, and that’s made of materials from home depot! it lends such a raw utilitarian feel and evokes a nice androgynous look which i find refreshingly not overly girly girly-matchy matchy. i’ve yet to make it in the neon green color but it’s surely on my list of more to come diy projects! check her out here for the tutorial!

doily lace bib: do it yourself
October 25, 2011 § 29 Comments
i’ve seen a few variations on this clever use of a doily for a pretty collar. and they are in every single japanese fashion magazine at the moment! my spin includes some pretty satin ribbon interwoven throughout the doily, as well as some delicate pearls for a subtle touch of elegance. and guys, one thing that i really appreciate about my take is that it does not require any sewing! how’s that for an easy diy project? and i’m kind of in love with the whole bib/collar trend right now, so you’ll be sure to see more in my future posts!

i absolutely love my chunky statement ring by j.fein that was kindly sent over! this one is called black rose. not only is it gorgeous but it’s also comfortable, and it has
a cool modern/vintage look to it. jessica feinsmith ~ originally from new york, now designs jewelry pieces out of the san francisco bay area. and i love her designs so much that i am ordering five more of her colorful cameos, so you’ll be sure to see more of her rings in my future lookbooks! please take a look at her awesome quality pieces over at j.fein designs.
friendship pin necklace: do it yourself
October 3, 2011 § 48 Comments
i came across this lovely diy site and just had to rush out and make this fun little necklace! i’m seeing so many do it yourself sites across the blogosphere lately and it’s always fun to try and recreate things with a slightly different spin. the name that i chose to give my necklace channels the cute friendship pins from way back in the day. do any of you remember those? we used to give them to our friends and put them on the shoe strings of our velcro hologram zips! i hope you all like the necklace as much as i do and please do check out ispy-diy and stylecaster for more diy ideas!
