with a skirt

it seems that my zara sandals surprisingly go well with something other than just pants! i’ve never really been that much into wearing skirts and dresses but i’ve decided to change all that. i guess i feel that pants are a more universally flattering and forgiving garment but it’s good to venture out of your comfort zone i believe. wishing you all a wonderful weekend guys, happy friday! xx

i’ve been known to live in my workout gear which consists of spandex and dri-fit nike tops. so now that athletic colors and materials have emerged onto the runway, i’m pleased to say that i’m pleased. plus it’s very easy to go from a day of shopping and iced-coffees to an early evening gym sesh because you’re already halfway dressed. you’ve got no excuse now!

chickens, sandals + goats
February 13, 2012 § 26 Comments
can you believe that goats and chickens exist in the middle of the city? well they do here in portland apparently. goats happen to be one of my favorite animals, aside from pigs. and although it’s not quite yet spring, i couldn’t wait to break in my new sandals which are surprisingly very comfortable to walk in, love that! wishing you all a fabulous monday!! xx kristina

nothing beats a hot cup of chili on a cold day like this one. followed by a pear and cranberry tart with a strong coffee make it even better. also, it’s pretty revolutionary when people finally manage to get real and show vulnerability. i say that we should always try and be as real as possible, even with those that we’re not close with. because what’s the point of going through life without really knowing one another?
lookbook: southwestern knit + maxi
November 14, 2011 § 31 Comments
right now i’m pretty obsessed with all things southwestern. this knit sweater is just perfect in both size and comfort, and because it’s slightly cropped, it pairs quite well with a maxi skirt worn slightly higher on the waistline. also, adding a pair of ballet-inspired, off white pumps led me to the inevitable idea of twisting my hair up into a simple ballerina bun. and my bright coral suede fringe bag adds that obligatory pop of color to the ensemble

it’s amazing how the weather can turn on a dime. it went from a pretty warm indian summer to a chilly and wet early fall. but i’m not complaining, i can truly appreciate rain and whatever else involves a cozy, fireplace-lit home. i don’t have to feel guilty for staying inside and watching movies, catching up on crafts or sipping spicy hot cocoa while watching my favorite t.v. chefs cook up delicious foods. and what’s even more important is that i can now comfortably wear my knit tights, chunky sweaters warm scarves and leather boots!

today i had a lunch date with my mom, sister and niece. it was just like old times again, where we sat around the big wooden table and had some great conversation as we tucked into yummy bowls of ramen noodles. and even though i cook a lot myself now, there is simply nothing better than a meal prepared by mom.
